Router Table

It has become very obvious that I will need a router table at some point. Not wanting to start from scratch or spend any more than needed, I decided to repurpose the resaw table I made for my band saw. It's a hefty piece of aluminum plate and it's already dilled for bit access. I simply marked the screw holes from the router base, drilled and counter sunk them and with a quick trip to HD for some longer screws, I was ready to bolt down my router. The Shopsmith Mark V makes a great work bench and the tables are fully height and distance adjustable. I kept them in close to provide as much support as possible. You can see a bit of shadow between the left SS table and the router table...I adjusted that out after the photos were taken. To eliminate this issue in the future, I plan to drill the SS tables so I can bolt down the router table instead of clamping it. The bit and table are nice and square so...it's time for some routing!

Here are some pics of the finished table. I drilled and countersunk four holes and attached the plate to the Shopsmith tables using the same hardware that attaches it to the band saw. There is planty of room underneath to make adjustments and change out bits. No more clamps and eveything seems to line up nicely. The tables are flush under the router plate and the entire setup is height adjustable.
